Applying Corrections to Remittance Request Submissions

From time to time, it becomes necessary to correct information that was reported for an individual on a previous remittance request. 

In principle, information that is entered into the platform, once entered and finalized, will not be reversed or changed in any capacity. In much the same way that one would deal with a financial transaction, corrective actions are taken by creating additional transactions that are corrective in nature.

There are a multitude of reasons why this might occur. Here are some of the most common and their appropriate, related solutions. 

  1. (Problem) Hours were under reported for an individual for a given reporting period. 

(Solution) In a future request, when the previous mistake is discovered, add a new report allocation with additional hours for those missing from the previous report. To start: a. In an existing unfinalized remittance request, click on the Actions button and select the option Add Person/Package.

  1. When the modal window appears, choose the appropriate person, contract job (if applicable), and wage package. The wage package selected should be the same reporting period as the wage package where the hours were previously under-reported previously. 
  2. Under the Date Range entries, the values entered should be the same reporting period as the wage package where the hours were previously under-reported. 
  3. No value is necessary in the Effective Date Range
  4. Click the Add button.
  5. In the hours column(s) for the newly added Remittance Package, add the appropriate number of hours to make up the difference for the previously under-reported hours.

 

  1. (Problem) Hours were over-reported for an individual for a given reporting period.

(Solution) Ina future request, when the previous mistake is discovered, add a new report allocation with additional negative entry hours for those missing from the previous report. To start: 

  1. In an existing unfinalized remittance request, click on the Actions button and select the option Add Person/Package
  2. When the modal window appears, choose the appropriate person, contract job (if applicable), and wage package. The wage package selected should be the same wage package for the over-reported hours previously. 
  3. Under the Date Range entries, the values entered should be the same reporting period as the wage package where the hours were previously over-reported.
  4. No value is necessary in the Effective Date Range
  5. Click the Add button. 
  6. In the hours column(s) for the newly added Remittance Package, add the appropriate number of negative hours to make up the difference for the previously over-reported hours.     

 

  1. (Problem) The wrong wage package, and therefore the wrong rates, were assessed against an individual for a given reporting period.

(Solution) In a future request, when the previous mistake is discovered, add a new report allocation with additional hours for those missing from a previous report. To start: 

  1. In an existing unfinalized remittance request, click on the Actions button and select the option Add Person/Package
  2. When the modal window appears, choose the appropriate person, contract job (if applicable), and wage package. The wage package selected should be the same wage package for the misreported hours previously. 
  3. Under the Date Range entries, the values entered should be the same reporting period as the wage package where the hours were previously misreported.  
  4. No value is necessary in the Effective Date Range
  5. Click the Add button. 
  6. In the hours column(s) for the newly added Remittance Package, add the appropriate number of negative hours to remove the accidental entry and to make up the difference for the previous incorrectly added hours. 
  7. Repeat all of the steps above to add another Remittance Package (the new Remittance Package that should have originally been used). Add the appropriate number of hours to report for the member. 

 

  1. (Problem) The rates for a wage package used in a previous reporting period were incorrect when the report was originally filled out. 

(Solution) In a future request, when the previous mistake is discovered, add a new report allocation with additional hours for those missing from the previous report. To start: 

  1. In an existing unfinalized Remittance Request, click on the Actions button and select the option Add Person/Package
  2. When the modal window appears, choose the appropriate person, contract job (if applicable), and wage package. The wage package selected should be the same wage package for the misreported hours previously. 
  3. Under the Date Range entries, the values entered should be the same reporting period as the wage package where the hours were previously misreported. 
  4. No value is necessary for the Effective Date Range
  5. Click the Add button. 
  6. In the hours column(s) for the newly added Remittance Package, add the appropriate number of negative hours to remove the accidental entry to make up the difference for the previously added incorrect hours. 
  7. Repeat the steps above to add another Remittance Package (the new Remittance Package that should have previously been used). Add the appropriate number of hours to the report for the member.
